Nutri Natural, Herbal and Vitamin Supplements Research Paper
Nutri Natural, Herbal and Vitamin Supplements - Research Paper Example In addition, many organizations are watching the growth of this demand and competition is already building. Therefore, market positioning and efficiency in marketing company products has become more relevant. For a company such as Nutri that intends to launch their online retail sale of natural, herbal and food vitamins, it is crucial to understand the market dynamics, distribution and the nature of competition within the market to be successful. Notably, the UK food supplements market is complex, and brand positioning is a necessary effort. In the past ten years, it is evident that the demand for supplements and vitamins has grown considerably and is already at a plateau phase. Approximately, the Food and Supplements market will reach $786 million within the next five years. Therefore, there is an opportunity for investment in this industry. UK enjoys stable economic growth and the low rates of unemployment in the country points out that the public have a well-grounded purchasing power (Ritchie 2-7). If this continues in the near future, it is obvious that the food supplements market will grow in tandem with the public demand. To this end, the economic perspective of the US food supplements market favors Nutriââ¬â¢s intention to launch their food supplements market. The social-cultural factors appear to be the main drivers of the demand for food supplements in the UK market. The high rates of obesity and health-related diseases have triggered a sudden change in the diet behavior in the UK. Bentonite Processing Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words
Bentonite Processing - Assignment Example Drying operation reduces the moisture content in bentonite rock to the required percentage. Different driers can be used in the moisture reduction. Drying effectively vaporizes the liquid level contain in the rocks. The vaporization is achieved through heat supply to the wet bentonite rock feedstock. The heat from the burner is supplied either through convention, radiation or conduction. The convection method is applied when direct driers are used while conduction method is applied when contact or indirect dryers are used. Most of the driers use hot air as the drying medium. This moisture removal process is an energy-intensive operation since the amount of latent heat of vaporization required is depended on the intensity of the heating (Gillson & Bances,à 87).Drying curveà à à à à à à à à à à à à A representation curve is required so as to describe the various drying properties for different product at different specific temperature, pressure and velocit y conditions. The drying curve for bentonite rock has three different phases. These phases are useful in the energy saving process and are independent. The products are passed through these phases in shifts. After passing from one phase, the product is moved to the next phase.First phaseà à This phase is also called initial period. In this phase, there is transfer of heat from the dryer to the products and the contained moisture. Inlet condition from the dryer heats up the products and this condition further enable subsequent processes to occur. This phase can be substituted by pre-processing. Pre-processing is achieved through preheating the bentonite rock with energy from the waste material. The amount of energy from the waste material would be able to cause dislodgement of moisture contents from the bentonite surface. Second phase This phase is also called constant rate period. In this phase, free moisture attaches themselves on the surfaces. Alteration of the rate of evaporation reduces the moisture content. In this period, high drying rates are achieved through increase in the temperature of the inlet air. This phase accords the product with very little temperature increase. However, this little temperature increase is enough to cause some kinetic energy rise within the rock particles. Third phase This phase is also known as the falling rate period. Intrinsically attached moisture evaporates from the product. The product drying rate is limited by the outer surface. The outer surface provides a barrier that prevents successive evaporation rate. The evaporated moisture would be accumulated within the dryer. Moisture content The drying process employed is control by the moisture content of the bentonite rock. The dryer in this case is required to reduce the moisture content from 11% to 4%. The exact moisture content required is measured by the electrical resistance meter. However, this meter is limited to moisture content in grains, woods, food and

THE SUCCESS COMMERCIALISATION OF FRANKLIN INSTITUTE Essay
THE SUCCESS COMMERCIALISATION OF FRANKLIN INSTITUTE - Essay Example Franklin Institute appeals mostly to people who have the passion for arts and this is perhaps the reason for her success story in commercializing itself and making her a most sought-for institute. This research aims to study what might have made Franklin Institute successful. It would not simply be a research about a school has come about but more so, it is done in order to establish a better comprehension about how one might succeed in similar or other endeavors as well. As global commercialization is placed at the forefront, it is important to know the aspects that make an institute successful. In line with Franklin Institute, it is assumed that the museums established to attract contributors and students alike, play the greatest role in its success. Therefore, in this paper, the link between commercialization and museums will be examined more closely. Franklin Institute is located at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It established its first museum in 1934 making it one of the first han ds-on science museums in the country (fi.edu). This made the institute very popular, attracting visitors from every corner and consequently, attracting talented students. As the years passed and technology has advanced, changes have been made in the institute to meet the demands and needs of a fast-changing community. The resiliency of the school made it more possible for it to maintain the success and popularity it has gained for decades through hard work and dedication. As other institutes tried to look into what Franklin Institute was doing, they embraced the concept of putting up museums as attractions to their own schools. However, not all schools have been successful as Franklin. Knowing that peopleââ¬â¢s needs and wants change over time, Franklin Institute engaged in improving the first attractions of the school and that is probably what keeps the institute surviving even in this time of great competitions. In line with the effects museums have for people, Jehra Patrick wr ote in her blog the results of her research on what attracts people to museums that might have affected the success of Franklin Institute. She names exploration among the top reason why people go to museums. The blogger observes that even people who are not inclined to art, science and technology are very curious so that they feel they have a need to explore what are inside museums. Some seek experience while others know that they have a knowledge that other people must share with them so that they act as facilitators when they go to museums. Professionals and hobbyists also find a wealth of information and ideas inside the museums while still others find the place as a hide-away where they can run from all the troubles in the world (Patrick). With the reasons listed above, it is seen that they include various people from a wide diversity, making the prospects of museum-goers really huge in number It is known that the higher percentage of learning is acquired through the eyes. For t his reason, museums are not just built for adults but for children as well. Museums are safe places to bring children to visit. Unlike parks and other recreational places, the museum caters to smaller number of people which makes it safer for children to be in. Moreover, the sights encourage questions from the children which will start a learning experience not only for the children but the

Impact of engineering on natural and social environment Essay
Impact of engineering on natural and social environment - Essay Example This paper discusses some of these issues and focuses on the implications for natural and social environment. Technological growth has given rise to huge cities and many people from villages are moving towards cities looking for new opportunities. In earlier dayââ¬â¢s people in the villages were comparatively more self-sufficient than when they reached the cities. For instance, farmers grew the necessary food for their family and the remaining was sold. Today, the agricultural technologies have entered the fields and have made this an expensive affair. Farmers are forced to buy seeds especially the genetically modified seeds [1], pesticides, synthetic fertilizers and machines. Besides, the land, water and atmosphere are contaminated with the over-use of chemical pesticides. In other words, these technological revolutions in the field of agriculture have made it an economical burden for the farmers and are becoming more and more unsustainable. The technological development has incr eased the gap between the rich and the poor. The benefit of technology is only for the rich people in the society [1]. Genetic engineering is another field that has resulted in serious changes in the natural environment. Genetic modification of plants and animals has raised several ethical questions. For instance, the use of transgenic flora for the preparation of vaccines is a recent research.

Small Business Hiring Picks Up in July Research Paper
Small Business Hiring Picks Up in July - Research Paper Example There is a 0.7% increase on the hours worked by the employees. As per the report, the increase in the work hours is a clear indication of the amount of work in these businesses. An increased hiring rate coupled by increased pay rate is a matter of competition for the employees. Subject of Agreement The report is based on the trends of the companies that have always had more than 20 employees and that use Intuitââ¬â¢s online payroll software. There are some other reports and survey that gives contrasting information compared to this. Chamber of Commerce conducted a survey in July which shows that more than half of the business owners surveyed have said that they wonââ¬â¢t be hiring in 2011. (Lopez, 2011) The business owners pointed out reasons like economic uncertainty, poor sales and lack of credit availability as the reasons for not hiring. The fact that Intuit report is based on data from few small businesses and there are contrasting data available from other reports reduces the reliability if Intuit Report. Moreover, the report is based on the data from June 23 to July 24, the trend which is not assured to sustain in the coming months. The recent happenings in the market are also showing that the economy is going through a very critical situation. Some people have also started speaking about double dip recession though the possibility of the same is highly unlikely as per the experts. Also, most SMEââ¬â¢s business is depended on the business performance of large scale corporations. Most SMEââ¬â¢s in the countryââ¬â¢s customers are the large scale corporations though a good portion of them markets products for the end consumers. But the overall US unemployment data shows that the unemployment rate came down to a level of 9.1%. (Tradingeconomics.com, 2011) The increase in the employment rate came from the private sector which added 154,000 jobs. The fact that private sector contributed to the employment and more that 85% of the SMEââ¬â¢s are private sector companies support the view of Intuit report. Therefore, I agree with the findings of the report that Small Business Hiring is increasing. Scope for a Different Presentation There was scope for presentation of the subject in a different context. With the available data, the report shouldnââ¬â¢t have concluded that it applies to the entire small business sector of the country. A person who reads only the Intuit report without a wider look into the results of other related information will be biased to believe that small business hiring is always picking up. This can just lead to wrong business or investment decisions. Instead of concluding that the small business hiring is increasing, it should just have said that there is an improvement in certain small business segment. It should just indicate that there is an indication that business at SMEââ¬â¢s are catching up. The main reason is that Intuit report had very limited information to support its findings. Presen ting the report as a reference material for arriving at the overall unemployment data would have been better. The Intuit report is definitely a good source of information for conducting an unemployment statistics study. But with the data it relied on, the report cannot act as a finding in itself. The author made the report as a conclusion for the entire small business sector. But the fact that the data was related to only few small businesses

Therefore, the feminism aspects create modalities of association between the woman and the others within the society by the decree of their characteristic variables (Mark, 2005, 33. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Conceptually, the gender variable is not the only factor that creates the basics of understanding ones position. The codes, ethics and regulations of the society are perhaps important components that have also helped to shape this position.
